Depuis que nous sommes arrivés au Costa Rica, les filles voulaient essayer le tour de la canopée (sommet des arbres) en tyrolienne. Nous leur avions dit que nous les amènerions pour leur anniversaire. C'est ce que nous avons fait!
We went with our friends Marc, Manon, Marek and Marina, we excluding the person who is talking, who much prefered to stay home and read in the hammock instead of pumping adrenaline in her blood.
Nous sommes allés avec nos amis Marc, Manon, Marek et Marina, nous excluant la personne qui parle, qui a préféré lire dans son hamac au lieu de pomper l'adrénaline!

It was another story for Aïsha, however... At the last minute, she decided she did not want to go alone, nor with on of the guide (who was a small woman, so they would be lighter), but only with papa. The guide said it might be too heavy, but after calculating quickly in his head (and we know Ticos are not really good with mental maths after spending many hours in the farmers' markets... and that they pretty much never say no because they do not want to offend people...), they said they could go... Bad idea. They were way too low and JF had to stop himself and Aïsha from getting into a tree and badly hurt his ankles... We were glad our friend Marc, who has all his first aid mountaineering training, checked him and brough him to the hospital. Nothing is broken (thank God!), but he has quite a bit of pain... Not a good way to start the running season (back home)...
Ce fut une toute autre histoire pour Aïsha, par contre... À la dernière minute, elle a décidé qu'elle ne voulait pas y aller seule, et non plus avec une des guides (une petite femme, afin que ce ne soit pas trop lourd), mais juste avec papa. Le guide a dit qu'ils seraient peut-être trop lourds, mais après quelques calculs rapides (et nous savons que les Ticos ne sont pas très bon en calcul mental après avoir passé plusieurs heures dans les marchés, mais surtout, qu'ils disent toujours oui pour ne pas fâcher les gens...), il a dit à JF qu'il pouvait y aller avec Aïsha... Mauvaise idée! Ils étaient trop bas et JF a dû s'arrêter avec ses pieds devant lui pour éviter qu'ils entrent en collision avec un tronc d'arbre à vitesse grand V et il s'est vraiment fait mal aux chevilles. Nous étions bien contents que notre ami Marc soit là (il a toutes ses certifications de premiers soins de montagne) et qu'il l'amène à l'hôpital. Par chance, il n'a rien de cassé, mais il a très mal aux chevilles (encore plus la droite)... Une bien mauvaise façon de commencer la saison de course (chez nous)...

The day before, we brought our friends to see the surfers in Dominical. Mathilde broke a tooth eating a plantain chip... We have to bring her to the dentist today... We will be using Costa Rica's health facilities in our last couple of weeks!
La journée d'avant, nous avons amené nos amis voir les surfeurs à Dominical. Mathilde s'est cassée une dent en mangeant une chips de plantain... On doit l'amener chez le dentiste aujourd'hui... On dirait qu'on va tester le système de santé costaricain avant de revenir à la maison!
