Pages flipping. Him typing. Raindrops on the metal roof (yes, we have rain. In Québec. In January). Everything is quiet. And I exhale There is joy in knowing that another full day is over. And relief too.
We are not quite ready
to see our tree go... We cherish the moments spent beside it, reading,
knitting and snuggling by the fireplace... all the while enjoying the
new toys that Christmas brought.
He went running 14 km on the icy/bumpy
trails at -23! When he still wasn't back an hour after darkness
had fallen, I was a bit worried since I knew he hadn't brought a
headlamp. I was quite happy to see him walk into the house, even if he looked like that!
He made a solar system mobile for his nephew. He worked 8 hours a day for 4 days on it. Then, he slept on the dinner table.
There was ice falling from the trees everywhere as we walked to the skating rink and the best hot chocolate ever (made with truffles). Then, there were games and an irrestible 14 months old mimicking our exclamations.
