Hello, spring!

Windows rolled down. Spotting the first buds of the season. A nap in the sun. Hanging clothes on the line. Snack on the patio. Bare legs. Hello, spring.

Sunshine on our plates

"Mama, I loooove sprouted fenugreek with kale! You make the best salads!"
I'll take all the sunshine I can get.

You are beautiful

A day at the spa with my mom. Floating. Delicious raw food not prepared by me. Bliss.
And realizing that when my mom looks at me in the pool and tells me: you're beautiful, she feels the exact same way I do when I look at my girls.
And that what she truly means is: I am deeply moved to see the amazing person you have become. And when I look at you, I am reminded of how much I love you.

Weekending in Chelsea

Music everywhere. Games of bocce in the sun. Dancing in the living room with them. Listening to him playing the guitar, in awe. Bikes in the mud. First ice cream of the season. A conversation about letting go of old ways.

Tiny beautiful things

You don’t have a right to the cards you believe you should have been dealt. You have an obligation to play the hell out of the ones you’re holding.

Playfulness

The sunshine had me seeing things through rose-colored glasses.
I felt playful and got in touch with my inner 9 year old little girl.

I want to remember to live out loud like she does.

10

I wonder if, ten years from now, I'll remember the details of this day the way I remember the details of the day they were born.
I can't believe ten years have gone by.
When I look at them, I see the babies and the young women.

It blows my mind in the best possible way.

Our friend Steph made the girls the most beautiful sewing kit for our next trip. They were delighted!
Mara received a violin (we were renting one from our friends and we decided to get her a bigger one). She was so proud! We are still looking for a good quality portable piano for Aïsha (at a decent price).
