Amazing rain

Finally, it rained today! We badly needed it around here!

Finalement, il a plu aujourd'huil! Nous en avions tellement besoin par ici!

:: Wonderful mist after the rain. And the smell in the air! ::

Inspired by the puppet show we saw this weekend by the Théâtre La Dame de Coeur with giant puppets, we put on our very own show today.

I am struggling a bit with my raw diet. I feel so deprived and it is so hard to keep cooking for my family. If I see another banana or mango, I scream...

Anyways, here's a great course by Dr Graham if you are serious about the raw diet (its 15 clips of 8 minutes each). This guy is so good at explaining it clearly and so interesting!

And here's a documentary called Simply raw: reversing diabetes in 30 days. Fascinating!

The looks on the girl's faces are awesome.

I enjoyed the Simply Raw video a lot, I can imagine how hard it would be to keep eating raw with a family to cook for - that's what's been holding me back. I think you're amazing to have done so well! Perhaps balance is the key (isn't it always?). When can you comfortably and happily eat raw, and when can you let that go and be at peace with it? Good luck with all of that, you're doing so well!

I noticed that you are reading The Unschooling Unmanual - I loved that book!

Penny, I guess being sick is my main motivation. I do not want to suffer from migraines all the time. It's hard, but it's really worth it in the long run. I hope I will be able to eat one cooked meal a week without messing up my efforts. Sometimes balance is hard to achieve in that area... Why not give it a go for a month or two during the summer, just to see how it improves your health?

Exactly Catherine, 'sometimes balance is hard to achieve in that area'. Sometimes you need to stay really strict during several weeks/months before being able to tolerate again (still healthy) cooked foods and have a more balance diet. Not easy with a family or a social life...

Love those gorgeous little faces all painted up - what beautiful girls you have Catherine:) I'm excited to check out the 'reversing diabetes' documentary you have linked to. My relationship to sugar is something I have been researching of late. Many hugs and blessings, xxx
