Happy new year from the jungle!

We have had friends staying with us for the last couple of days and we are really enjoying their presence. I LOVE talking with moms of grown-up children (and their children!), especially when they are funny and witty! I find it so insightful and enlightening. And needless to say, it is pretty helpful too!

It has been a month that I am chasing toucans with my camera every time I hear one (they are much easier to hear than to see!), as well as aracaris. We just happened to be sitting at Chapy's in downtown Dominical when I turned around and noticed both species right beside me!

:: Colwell's Horned Kaydid (leaf bug)/Kaydid Cornu Colwell (??, en tout cas, insecte feuille) ::

:: Tiger heron on the side of our pool (he truly looked lost and was absolutely not afraid of us)/Héron tigré sur le bord de notre piscine (il avait vraiment l'air perdu et n'avait aucunement peur de nous) ::

:: We suck the flesh around the beans (and it does not taste like chocolate at all, but it is pretty yummy)/On suce la chair qui entoure les grains (et ça ne goûte pas du tout le chocolat, mais c'est très bon) ::

:: Cheers!/Santé! ::
