Christmas in pictures (part 3!)

He made a solar system mobile for his nephew. He worked 8 hours a day for 4 days on it. Then, he slept on the dinner table.

There was ice falling from the trees everywhere as we walked to the skating rink and the best hot chocolate ever (made with truffles). Then, there
were games and an irrestible 14 months old mimicking our exclamations.

Christmas in pictures (part 2)

I felt like I was 5, 12, 18, 24 and 35 again - all at the same time.

Each age with its own beauty and hardships.

T'was the night before Christmas...

Last minute baking.

Present making behind closed doors.

Merry making.

The elves are busy.

Wrapping gifts and whispering.

There is magic.

And the elves are waiting.

Ice, ice baby!

As I leaped out the (warm) house this morning with my camera as soon as the first rays of sun shone on the bright ice outside my bedroom window, I couldn't help but think how this ice storm will affect so many people's Christmas. Most houses around here have been without power for over 3 days now and many won't have it anytime soon...

When a fire started last night in the trees behind our house because it touched a power line, bright flashes filled our dining room through the window. We called 911, but they never came (the branch finally fell on the ground and it stopped)... When 911 doesn't show up because there are just so many emergencies going on, you know how critical the situation is...
