Sick

Two sick fairies, in and out of bed, sunrise to sundown. Lemon thyme honey popsicles. Painting fireworks. A new client. A super long bath. While I don't like to see them feel this way, I love that added tenderness that sickness always seems to reveal.

Austin is sick too :( This morning I was having the same feelings about how tender everyone becomes when someone in the house is sick.

Lemon thyme honey popsicles? Can you share how you make them please.
Yes, my boy had a fever for 24 hrs yesterday and it was lovely that he lay still and wanted to be cuddled instead of the feral thing he usually is!

Oh Jenni, I am sorry to hear that... A fever is no fun... I simply make a strong herbal tea (with lemon thyme, about 1 tablespoon per cup of water and let it simmer for 10 min). I then add lots of lemon juice (maybe the juice of 2-3 lemons for 4 cups of tea and lots of honey (like half a cup), and freezy into popsicles. They make miracles for cough and sore throats.

HI, thanks for the popsicle recipe, sounds great, I will try it. My boy was over his fever in 24 hrs. Some belladonna homeopathy and lying in a darkened room being held by mum or dad worked wonders. I try to let the fever do its course as much as possible, making sure he was alert, drinking sips of water etc. The fever broke about 3 am and he bounced out of bed the next day. Beautiful!

Support a child thoughout a fever and see them coming out of it is quite an amazing process. Your son is lucky to have a mom that trust that his immune system will do its job! I love using Belladona too in case of fevers. And I find it fascinating to see how big fevers change children, how they come out of it a little different, a little more incarnated.
